Hosts handle the hospitality aspect at Grounds For Thought. They greet people as they arrive, making them feel welcome and helping them to meet others. They also help people know how put in an order for coffee, other beverage or snack.

Coffee, as well as other drinks and snacks are available beginning at 6 p.m. If you would be interested in helping out with making coffee, this is your group. Baristas usually arrive at 5:15 or 5:30 p.m. to set up things in the kitchen. They also clean up after worship is finished.

During worship, we display words and images on a screen. Tech team members run the computer for the display, using a Powerpoint like program. If you know anything about Powerpoint or would like to learn, this is the team for you.

The Grounds For Thought Creative Team works to keep the worship environment up to date and helps to plan experiential elements for worship. If you have a knack for thinking of visual, tactile or other sensory experiences, you could help on the Creative Team.

Those who can play an instrument or help lead singing are encouraged to offer their services as one of the Grounds For Thought musicians.

The best way to let others know about Grounds For Thought is by word of mouth advertising. If you are willing to talk to others about Grounds For Thought in your daily environment—in school, at work or wherever you come into contact with others, this team is for you. The Street team may also hang posters and help with other kinds of publicity.

Grounds For Thought needs a certain amount of behind the scenes work. Tables need to be moved, chairs need to be set up and the coffee house environment needs to be created. This isn't the most glamorous work, but it is essential for Grounds For Thought.

As a worship experience, Grounds For Thought is intended to provide an opportunity for worshippers to connect with God as well as with each other. One primary way to do this is through prayer. If you would like to be part of a group who prays for our worship as well as the prayer concerns raise during Grounds For Thought, this team is for you. Prayer concerns will be share with members of this team so that can include that in their personal prayers. Members may also gather to pray before each worship experience.

A team of responsible adults is needed to help provide childcare during the worship service. The team members set up a childcare area in a room near the worship area. Unfortunately, when team members are looking after children, they aren't able to participate in worship. Nevertheless this is a form of service that is needed to support Grounds For Thought.

Each month we like to have a variety of cookies, bars and other baked goods to serve with the coffee and other drinks. If you’d be willing to bring something, let us know
